Optional Voice Data Consent for QuranTone AI Training

Recordings and related data

If you consent, QuranTone may use recordings you submit through its recitation and pronunciation features while your consent is active. This includes recordings of Qur’anic letters, words, verses, and learning exercises, together with relevant timing and acoustic features, AI analysis, pronunciation labels, scores, and evaluations made by authorized reviewers.

A recording may be associated with your account. Your voice may also be capable of identifying you, and your use of QuranTone may reveal information about your religious interests. QuranTone will handle this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law.

What you are consenting to

You give Essence Tech LLC permission to collect, retain, review, process, and use the recordings and related data described above to develop, train, fine-tune, test, validate, evaluate, and improve QuranTone’s Qur’an pronunciation and recitation analysis systems. Authorized personnel and qualified recitation experts may review selected recordings to label examples, check AI results, and assess accuracy for these purposes.

QuranTone may create segments, annotations, acoustic features, and other data derived from a recording for these purposes. This consent does not authorize QuranTone to publish your recordings, sell them, provide them to another company for that company’s independent use, or create a synthetic imitation of your voice.

Service analysis is separate. If you decline this optional consent, QuranTone may still process a recording as necessary to provide the pronunciation or recitation analysis that you specifically request. Declining means that the recording must not be added to QuranTone’s optional AI training data under this consent.

Storage and access

Recordings used for AI training will be held in non-public systems operated by or on behalf of QuranTone. Access will be limited to authorized people and service providers who need it for the purposes described here. QuranTone will apply appropriate safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Hosting, storage, security, and technical service providers may process recordings on QuranTone’s behalf, subject to applicable agreements and instructions. They must not use your recordings to train their own models or for their independent purposes under this consent. How long data is kept

QuranTone may retain identifiable recordings and related data for as long as they are reasonably needed for the specific AI development and evaluation purposes described above, subject to applicable legal limits. QuranTone will review whether continued retention is needed and will delete or genuinely de-identify data when it is no longer needed, when a valid deletion request requires it, or when the law requires an earlier end to retention. Limited records may be retained where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Data is considered anonymized only if it can no longer reasonably be linked to you. QuranTone’s Privacy Policy provides further information about its retention criteria and deletion process.

Your choice and withdrawal

AI training is optional. You may decline now or withdraw your consent later through the AI Training setting in your account or the privacy contact listed in the QuranTone Privacy Policy. Withdrawal stops the future use of your identifiable recordings for AI training under this consent and does not affect processing lawfully completed before withdrawal.

QuranTone will handle requests concerning recordings and identifiable derived data in accordance with applicable law. Information that has been irreversibly anonymized, or information already incorporated into a trained model in a way that cannot reasonably be isolated and linked to you, may not be individually removable. QuranTone will not use this statement to deny a right that applicable law gives you.
